Under the supervision of the Personal Assistance Services Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for serving the organization’s clients by providing personal assistance services. The attendant supports clients in their daily activities so that they can remain in their homes for as long as possible.

JOB SUMMARY
Provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, help with meals, supervision of medication intake, and safe assistance with mobility and transfers. Also provide respite care for family caregivers.
- Performs hygiene care (partial or complete grooming, oral hygiene, changing incontinence pants, shaving, styling, etc.).
- Assists the client with dressing (taking off or putting on clothes).
- Monitors medication administration (checks the name, date, time, correct route of administration, and that it is the correct medication).
- Assistance with meal preparation and eating (preparing and/or reheating simple meals, helping the client eat and drink when necessary).
- Assists clients with mobility and transfers (going to the bathroom, sitting down or standing up, getting out of bed, transferring from a wheelchair to the toilet, during personal hygiene care in bed or in the bathtub, etc.).
- Uses different equipment to move and transfer customers (wheelchair, walker, patient lift, etc.).
- Offer stimulating activities, games, or other activities appropriate to the recipient’s condition (card games, board games, reading, knitting, music, puzzles, etc.).
- Review the tasks to be performed for a new client by consulting with the coordinator and reviewing the case summary.
